Despite its simple looks, this Omega Constellation 157.0001 is a solid timepiece that is noteworthy, yet still underrated. Bearing both great style and substance, this is one watch that deserves a place in any vintage watch collection.
If you find this watch not to be quite like the other Omega watches from the 1970s (and reminds you of the Patek Philippe Calatrava models instead), this is due to the 1970s being a time of experimentation of Omega. What resulted from this experimentation, is this watch that contains arguably one of the best movements made by Omega. Housing the ultra-thin Cal. 712 that has a headline figure that is only 3mm, this watch is the epitome of 1970s engineering from Omega. Just to compare, Omega's flagship chronometer at that time, Cal. 551, was 4.5mm thick.
Featuring a vertically brushed silver dial and contrasted with black stick hour markers, this is classic look that fits any occasion. Due to the ultra-thin calibre, this watch is slim and slips under the cuff nicely.
